GOC seeks inter-agency synergy to tackle insecurity in Plateau

The General Officer Commanding, 3 Division of the Nigerian Army, Rukuba, near Jos, Plateau State, Maj.-Gen. Abdusalam Abubakar, has called for stronger synergy and collaboration among the security agencies toward tackling insecurity in Plateau.
Mr Abubakar, who doubles as the Commander, Operation Safe Haven, made the call on Saturday in Jos.
The GOC spoke at the 10 Kilometres Road Walk he organised for all the security agencies in the state.
Mr Abubakar maintained that the walk aimed at promoting physical fitness, unity and cooperation among the security agencies.
He said. “I’m highly pleased to have over 1,000 personnel of various security outfits to participate in this fitness walk. The work that we do is mentally demanding and is physically challenging to deliver on our mandate. The essence of this walk cannot be overemphasized; you are now lighter, agile and fit for any task. You can now perform your role of securing lives and property optimally. This suggests why we need this kind of synergy among us to overcome security challenges.’’
The GOC said that the security agencies and the government were making efforts toward ensuring that lasting peace returns to the troubled areas in the state.
The road walk commenced from the famous Polo play ground in Jos North Local Government Area and ended at the 551 Airforce Station, Jos South LGA of the state.
