Ghanaian actor, comedian and broadcaster Seth Kwame Dzokoto has died after reportedly collapsing during a live radio programme.

Mr Dzokoto died early Thursday while participating as a panelist on the morning show on Owass FM/Radio in Tarkwa, Ghana’s Western Region.

He was immediately rushed to a hospital in Tarkwa, where he was pronounced dead on arrival.

Kirk Mensah, the Western Regional Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), confirmed his death.

“Our comrade Kwame Dzokoto of the Efiewura and Edziban fame on a panel discussion on Owass Radio in Tarkwa collapsed and pronounced dead on arrival at the hospital,” Mr Mensah said.

The radio expressed sadness over the incident, urging “the public to respect the privacy of the bereaved”.

The deceased became popular through his portrayal of Judge Koboo in the popular television series Efiewura.

He also hosted TV3’s food and tourism programme Edziban, showcasing Ghanaian cuisine and culture.

Mr Dzokoto featured in prominent productions, including Osumesi, and worked as a radio presenter with Skyy Power FM in Takoradi and Hello FM in Kumasi.
