FRSC deploys 500 officers for safe eid in Niger

The Federal Road Safety Corps sector in Niger State has deployed over 500 operatives to ensure an accident-free eid-el-fitr celebration in the state.
This deployment is contained in a statement by the Sector Commander, Kumar Tsukwam, on Saturday in Minna.
Mr Tsukwam emphasised the need for such a deployment to guarantee a smooth and safe celebration.
He said, “The operatives have been stationed across the state, especially at accident-prone areas, to facilitate the easy movement of vehicles.’’
He added that tow vans had been deployed to remove faulty vehicles from roads across the state.
He noted, “We have also stationed ambulances to respond to emergencies.’’
Mr Tsukwam stated that the corps had engaged special marshals to assist in maintaining the free flow of traffic.
“The operatives have already begun operations, and traffic has been smooth from the Minna-Bida axis to the Suleja axis,” he said.
He added that traffic was also flowing freely on the Minna-Kontagora, Mokwa-Bida, Bida-Kutigi, and Lapai-Lambata Roads.
Mr Tsukwam assured that efforts had been intensified to prevent road congestion during the celebration.
“We are optimistic that, with the number of personnel deployed and the preparations made, we will achieve an accident-free celebration,” he said.
