Four workers burnt to death in Lagos lounge fire: Police 

He said that the cause of the fire and value of the property destroyed are yet unknown.

The police command in Lagos state has confirmed the death of four staffers in a fire accident that occurred on Sunday at a lounge and bar in Baale Road, Olodi Apapa area.

The command’s spokesperson, SP Benjamin Hundeyin, confirmed this to journalists on Monday in Lagos.

Mr Hundeyin said that a distress call was received at Tolu Division that fire gutted a lounge and bar on Sunday at 07:45 a.m.

“Based on the report, teams of policemen and firefighters were swiftly mobilised to the scene and the fire was successfully put 

out as a result of the efforts of all the teams.

“Four of the company’s staff, who are yet to be identified, got burnt beyond recognition in the fire.

“The corpses have been evacuated to Infectious Disease Hospital (IDH) Morgue, Yaba for autopsy, ” he said.

He said that the cause of the fire and value of the property destroyed are yet unknown.

According to the spokesperson, investigation is in progress.
