Former U.S. President Bill Clinton, 78, has been admitted to MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington for fever.

Mr Clinton was admitted into a hospital on Monday.

His deputy chief of staff, Angel Ureña, confirmed his hospitalisation in a statement. Mr Ureña said the former president was in “good spirit.”

“He remains in good spirits and deeply appreciates the excellent care he is receiving,” Mr Ureña said.

Mr Clinton was previously hospitalised in 2021 for a urological infection that developed into sepsis.

He also suffers from heart disease, which was diagnosed in 2004 after he suffered from shortness of breath and chest pains.

The former U.S. president also underwent a quadruple coronary bypass surgery in 2021 to resolve the condition at a hospital in New York.
