Five dead, seven injured in Ore-Lagos Expressway auto crash

Five persons have been confirmed dead while seven others injured in a road accident along the Ore-Lagos expressway on Saturday.
The public relations officer of the Ondo state police command, Funmilayo Odunlami-Omisanya, confirmed the accident in a statement on Saturday.
According to the command’s spokesperson, the accident happened at the Akinfosile area of the expressway around 4:30 p.m.
Ms Omisanya said the accident, which involved a Toyota Hiace Bus with Reg No FKG 405 FX en route to Lagos from Akure, somersaulted into the bush.
Ms Omisanya revealed that the injured persons were taken to Grace of God Hospital, while the dead were deposited at the mortuary in the same hospital.
It read, “Today at about 04:30 p.m., around Akinfosile area along Ore/Lagos expressway, the Police received report that a Toyota Hiace Bus with Reg No FKG 405 FX from Akure en route Lagos while on the way somersaulted and entered into the bush.”
According to her, investigation is ongoing to ascertain the cause of the accident while an effort is being made to contact the families of the passengers involved.
She, therefore, urged family members “to reach out to their relatives who left for Lagos from Akure on Saturday to check on them,” while advising “those in doubt of the whereabouts of their families to reach out to the police at Igbotako Division through this phone no 07033285708 for more information”.
