Fire razes plastic store in Osogbo

A popular plastic store, Iyanu Plastic, in Osogbo, was razed by fire on Sunday, with property worth millions of naira destroyed.
The assistant director of operations of the Osun Fire Service, Ibrahim Adekunle, who confirmed the incident, stated that the fire started in the afternoon.
“Officials were able to subdue the fire. The fire destroyed all the plastics, and it was difficult to control because the materials were flammable.
“We were alerted to the fire at about 2:30 p.m.m,” Mr Adekunle stated.
He said the service had yet to ascertain the cause of the fire, adding that no fatalities were recorded.
Properties worth N5.42 billion were lost to fire outbreaks in Osun between January and December, 2025. The properties were destroyed in the 101 fire disaster that occurred during the period.
This statistic was released by the Osun Fire Service for fires in 2025.
