Fire guts office of Governor Soludo’s aide

A part of the office of the special adviser to Anambra governor on political matters, Alex Obiogbolu, was gutted by fire on Tuesday.
The office is inside the Anambra Government House, Agu Awka, Awka.
Two firefighting trucks were deployed by the Fire Service to combat the inferno.
A source in the office said the fire started from the electricity junction box.
Mr Obiogbolu, who rushed back to the scene, described the inferno as “unfortunate” and commended the Fire Service for its swift response.
In reaction, Chukwudi Chiketa, the Anambra fire chief, confirmed that a power surge caused the inferno.
Mr Chiketa called residents to ensure they switched off their electrical appliances whenever they were not in use and to ensure they had fire extinguishers in homes and offices.
“It was a result of a power surge. We got there in good time and stopped the fire from causing maximum damage to the building or touching those around it,” he said.
