FG, Kebbi govt urged to intensify anti-bandits efforts

A socio-political group, the Kebbi Development Forum, has urged the Kebbi and Federal Governments to scale up efforts in addressing the worsening security challenges bedevilling the state.
The spokesperson for the forum, Abubakar Bello-Abdullahi, made the call in a statement in Birnin Kebbi on Monday.
“We also express deep sorrow and heartfelt condolences to the government of Kebbi, the Zuru Emirate, and the families affected by the recent brutal attacks by bandits in Tadurga, Zuru local government area, and Kyabu Danko/Wasagu local government area, which claimed the lives of many innocent people.
“The forum is deeply saddened by this senseless tragedy and stands in full solidarity with the bereaved communities during this painful time.
“We pray for the peaceful repose of the departed souls and ask Almighty God to comfort the grieving families, heal the wounded, and restore calm and security to the affected areas,” he said.
Mr Bello-Abdullahi reaffirmed the forum’s belief in the sanctity of life while urging for collective empathy and actions in helping victims overcome their trauma and find the strength to rebuild their communities.
He commended the bravery of the security forces, saying, “We believe that improved coordination, sustained military action, and proactive intelligence-led operations are vital to safeguarding lives and property.”
