Female cash officer in court over alleged theft of N1.4 million

A 44-year-old woman, Anifat Adeyemo, on Thursday appeared before an Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court Ibadan, Oyo State, over an alleged N1.4 million theft.
Adeyemo, whose address was not provided, was charged with theft, to which she pleaded not guilty.
The Prosecutor, Inspector Femi Omilana told the court that the defendant committed the offence between October 2023 and April 2025, at Amuloko area of Ibadan.
Mr Omilana alleged that the defendant, being the cash officer to a loan company, A-Square Investment Ltd, Ibadan, stole N1.4 million, belonging to one Kemi Sodiq.
He said the offence contravened Section 390(9) of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
The Magistrate, Adebola Adeola, granted the defendant bail in the sum of N500,000 and two sureties in like sum. She adjourned the case until June 9, for hearing.
