Federation Cup: Enyimba coach laments state of pitch in match with Ngwa United

Coach of Enyimba International FC, Daniel Olarenwaju, has condemned the state of Amoaogudu Abiriba pitch, venue of the Federation cup quarter final match between his team and Ngwa United FC of Abiriba.
Enyimba on Tuesday defeated Ngwa United FC 1-0 in Abiriba to reach the semifinals of the ongoing state federation cup in Abia.
Mr Olarenwaju, who complained of the condition of the pitch, said that his team had to play there for the love of the game.
“You cannot bring a club like Enyimba to come and play in this kind of pitch and now two of my players are seriously injured. It is really crazy but it is important that we honour this match for the love of the game but this cannot happen in other states.
“You cannot take Rivers United, Kwara United or any other Nigeria Premier Football League team to a pitch like this, it is barbaric. For Enyimba, it is all about winning and that is what we represent, no matter where we are playing and this is the only thing I told the players,” he said.
The coach said that the players were trained to play each match and win before they could talk about the condition of the pitch, which is all that matters.
“I wish our next match will not be played inside this kind of pitch so that fans can be entertained,” Mr Olarenwaju said.
