EPL: Arsenal thrash Crystal Palace; open eight points lead over Manchester City

Arsenal continued their chase for the title this season with a brilliant performance at the Emirates Stadium on Sunday, beating Crystal Palace 4-1 in the English Premier League.
The Gunners did not just maintain their top spot on the EPL log but opened eight points lead margin ahead of Manchester City. But, City could close the gap if they win their one pending game.
Brazilian striker, Gabriel Martinelli, opened the scoring for the Gunners with a brilliant left-foot strike 28 minutes into the game.
The Gunners continued to pile pressure on the visitors when Bukayo Saka doubled their lead with a superb left-foot shot in the 43rd minute.
Saka became the first player in the English Premier League to get 10 goals and 10 assists this season.
With a two-goal lead into the first-half break, Arsenal returned for the second half to comfortably finish off the game.
Granit Xhaka made it three for the Gunners in the 55th minute, burying Crystal Palace’s hope of a comeback.
Schlupp pulled one back for the visitors in the 63rd minute but Saka again struck in the 74th minute, restoring Arsenal’s three-goal lead.
Arsenal now have 69 points in 28 games, while City have 61 points in 27 games.
