EPL: Arsenal pulled off late comeback to draw Chelsea at Stamford Bridge as Man City return to table summit

Chelsea threw away a two-goal lead as Arsenal came back from behind to settle for a 2-2 draw at Stamford Bridge, as the Gunners maintained their unbeaten start to the season on Saturday evening.
Thanks to Cole Palmer from the spot and Mykhaylo Mudryk, the Blues were in the lead from the 15th minute until the 77th minute before Declan Rice pulled one back for Arsenal with a goal from yards away after a wrong pass by Sanchez.
Then, seven minutes later, Leandro Trossard equalised for the Gunners after Bukayo Saka located the Belgian with a pass inside the six-yard box – Trossar immediately tapped the ball into the net from close range.
Arsenal made late attempts to probably steal a comeback win, but Chelsea were able to absorb the late pressure, as both London clubs settled for shared points.
With 21 points from nine matches, Arsenal remained unbeaten in the league this season and are joint league leaders alongside Manchester City, while Chelsea has now gone three league games without a defeat.
Meanwhile, 10-man Manchester City secured a 2-1 victory against Brighton at the Etihad Stadium to return to the top of the Premier League table with 21 points from nine matches.
The reigning champions also became the club with the longest home winning streak, with a record 21 league wins at the Etihad in a row.
World Cup winner Julian Alvarez gave City the lead only seven minutes into the encounter, curling a pass from Jeremy Doku into the top corner of the net. In the 19th minute, Erling Haaland doubled the lead from a long-range shot.
Brighton pulled one back in the 73rd minute through substitute Ansu Fati, whose only job was to find the back of the net from close range.
They went on to pressurise the hosts in search of an equaliser, but City survived the late scare, including Mauel Akanji’s stoppage-time red card.
