Enugu police arrest two for breaking into car, stealing phones

Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command have arrested two suspects for allegedly breaking into a parked car to steal two phones.
In a statement on Saturday, the command’s public relations officer, Daniel Ndukwe, said the stolen phones and the vehicle had been recovered.
The command’s spokesperson said operatives of the New Haven Division arrested the suspects, Abuchi Kenneth, 27, and Ifeanyi Odu, 29, at about 4:00 p.m. on September 24.
Mr Ndukwe said the investigation revealed that the suspects, who claimed to reside in Zuba, Abuja, and Nekede, Owerri, Imo State, broke into the car and stole ” a Samsung Galaxy and Infinix smartphones from a car parked along the road at Rangers Avenue, Enugu.”
Mr Ndukwe stated that operatives, after receiving information about the criminal act, “went after, intercepted, and arrested the suspects at Otigba roundabout, Enugu, recovering the phones and their operational vehicle, a Toyota Corolla car with reg. no. KUJ 614 CF.”
He said the suspects will be arraigned in court soon.
