Enugu assembly receives names of five new commissioner-nominees

The Enugu State House of Assembly has received the names of five new commissioner nominees forwarded for screening and confirmation by Governor Peter Mbah.
The names, contained in a letter forward to the assembly Mr Mbah, was read during plenary by the Speaker, Uche Ugwu, on Thursday in Enugu.
The nominees are Benjamin Osita Okoh, Prof. Benedeth Ekwutosi Okoli, Franklin Ogbonna, Dr Samuel Ogbu‑Nwobodo, Prof. George Ugwu and Ben- Collins Ndu Jr.
The speaker asked the clerk to ensure that each of the nominees submitted 25 copies of their curriculum vitae to the House on or before Monday.
He equally directed the nominees to prepare for their screening, which would be determined by the House Committee on Rules and Business on a later date.
The assembly also held a valedictory session for a former lawmaker, the late Anthony Chigbo, who represented Uzo-Uwani state constituency from 2003 to 2011.
