The Eko Electricity Distribution Company has announced that there’s been a system collapse which has caused blackout on its network.

Disclosing this in a notice on its X platform on Tuesday, it assured that power will soon be restored while asking its customers for patience.

The post read, “Dear valued customers, kindly be informed that following today’s system collapse at 11:31hrs, there is a total loss of supply across our network.

“We are currently engaging with our partners at the National Control Centre as we await further updates on restoration status. Do kindly bear with us,” it pleaded.

In an earlier post, EEDC had attributed the power blackout in some parts of Lagos to an outage on Unity 11kV feeder, in Ojo caused by a line fault.

EEDC said those affected were its customers in Mosadolorun, Orelope and environs but assured that power will be restored soon.

The tweet read, “Dear Valued Customer, kindly be informed that the present outage on Unity 11kV feeder, in Ojo district, is due to a line fault.

“Areas affected: Mosadolorun, Orelope and environs.

“Efforts are ongoing to restore supply as soon as possible. Kindly bear with us,” it added.

This is coming five days after the national grid collapsed twice under six hours, leaving the country in darkness.
