Ekiti LG boss warns workers against complacency

The chairwoman of Oye LGA in Ekiti, Clara Bamisile, has warned workers against complacency, urging them to work hard to raise the council’s internally generated revenue.
Ms Bamisile spoke during a meeting with the heads of departments and staff of the council in Oye-Ekiti on Friday.
She said that for every local government to be developed and functional, workers must be ready to give their best in their various capacities.
“I want to urge every staff of Oye local government area to be hardworking and diligent in their various departments.
”We need IGR to fund most of our needs in the local government and if every worker carries out his or her duties, we will achieve our goals,” she said.
The chairperson said her administration’s agenda includes the development of agriculture, education infrastructure, and good governance, which is in line with that of the state governor, Biodun Oyebanji.
Ms Bamisile said these could not be actualised without the workers’ commitment because IGR is one of the major tools needed to promote the development of any council.
She urged the workers to be security conscious and report individuals or groups of persons without known identity to the nearest police station for prompt action.
The chairwoman assured them that her administration would improve the security network of the town in 2025.
