The Kaduna state police command has assured the residents of adequate security before, during and after the Eid-el-Fitr celebration.

The command’s spokesman, DSP Mansir Hassan, gave the assurance in a statement issued in Kaduna on Saturday.

Mr Hassan stated that the comand “deployed its personnel across strategic locations across the state to ensure a peaceful and crime-free sallah celebration”.

The statement read in part, “In preparation for the upcoming Eid-el-Fitr celebration, the command has intensified security deployments across the state to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festivity.

“The Commissioner of Police, Mr Rabiu Muhammad, has directed all Area Commanders, Divisional Police Officers, and Tactical Units to strengthen patrols, surveillance, and intelligence gathering in all parts of the state.

“These measures are aimed at preventing any potential security threats and ensuring the safety of residents and visitors before, during and after the festive period.

“The deployment will cover all prayer grounds, recreational centers, markets, motor parks, and other public places, where large gatherings are expected.

“Special attention will also be given to flashpoints, entry and exit points, and major highways to prevent criminal activities.”

Mr Hassan explained that in addition to physical security presence, the command activated a rapid response strategy, with patrol teams and undercover operatives deployed in strategic locations.

“Furthermore, collaboration with sister security agencies and community stakeholders has been enhanced to ensure seamless coordination and intelligence sharing,” he stated.

He urged residents to remain vigilant and cooperate with the police by reporting any suspicious activities through the command’s emergency lines: 0703967 5856, 08075391105.

He further assured the public that the command remained committed to protecting lives and property before, during, and after the celebrations.

“The command wishes all Muslim faithful a peaceful and joyous Eid-el-Fitr celebration,” Mr Hassan added.
