Efe Ajagba defeats Australian Joe Goodall to retain WBC silver heavyweight title

Nigeria’s highest-rated heavyweight, Efe Ajagba, successfully defended his WBC Silver Heavyweight Title by defeating Australian Joe Goodall in the 4th round via TKO, improving his record to 19-1 (14 KOs).
In his second-ever headlining event and the second one in 2023, which took place at the newly opened Tahoe Blue Event Centre in Lake Tahoe, Efe secured his third consecutive win this year, solidifying his position as a top contender in the division.
Joe Goodall, who had previously beaten Ajagba in the amateurs, entered the bout with confidence. However, Ajagba set the tone with his jab early on and consistently landed heavy shots throughout the fight.
Goodall proved to be very durable, and in the end, referee Tony Weeks may have stopped the fight early to protect him from further damage.
Ajagba is currently ranked 7th by the WBC and is eager to climb the rankings for a shot at the WBC champion, Tyson Fury.
