Voting commenced at 10:45am in Okaegben ward one, unit 3, Ewohimi, the polling unit of the Peoples Democratic Party’s candidate, Asue Ighodalo, in the ongoing governorship election in Edo State.

The lateness was due to the late arrival of the INEC officials.

When voting started, elderly men and women were given the priority to vote first before the youth.

Accreditation and voting are also ongoing in polling units 3 and 15, in Okaegben ward one, Ewohimi, in Esan South East Local Government of Edo.

Speaking shortly after voting, an elderly voter, Wilson Bello, said the exercise was simple and easy.

According to him, if INEC continues like this, voting will end by 2p.m.

A 91-old-man, Honda Ikehide, who is the Eguaze of Ewohimi Kingdom and the eldest in the Ewohimi, said that the voting was peaceful.

Mr Ikehide urged the people to be orderly and patiently wait to vote for the candidate of their choice.
