Edo governor felicitates Muslims on Eid Kabir

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has extended warm felicitations to Muslims in the state and worldwide on the joyous occasion of Eid Kabir.
This is contained in a statement on Friday in Benin City by the Chief Press Secretary to the Edo State governor, Fred Itua.
Mr Okpebholo emphasised the deep significance of Eid Kabir, a festival symbolising sacrifice, obedience, and devotion to Allah.
In his message, the governor urged Muslims to reflect on the festival’s core lessons — compassion, generosity, and complete submission to the will of God.
He noted that Eid Kabir calls for deeper faith, peaceful coexistence, and fellowship with neighbours, regardless of religious differences.
“As we commemorate Eid Kabir, let us remember the spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by Prophet Ibrahim,” Mr Okpebholo said.
He added that the celebration should inspire faith, harmony, and unity among all, encouraging kindness towards everyone, regardless of belief.
The governor underscored the need for unity and mutual understanding, especially at such a spiritually significant time.
He called on all Edo residents to continue living peacefully and in harmony with one another.
Mr Okpebholo reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to fostering an inclusive society that respects all faiths and protects citizens’ rights and freedoms.
He encouraged everyone to celebrate responsibly, follow safety measures, and share the season’s blessings with the less privileged.
The governor prayed for enduring peace, security, and continued development in Edo and the entire nation.
On behalf of the Edo State government and its people, the governor wished the Muslim Ummah a blessed and memorable Eid Kabir.
