Edo gets new NSCDC commandant

Gbenga Agun has assumed duty as the new commandant of the Edo Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC).
Mr Agun replaced Matthew Uboyi, who was deployed to the NSCDC zonal office in the FCT.
In his maiden meeting with personnel of the command, the new commandant solicited their support and cooperation in tackling the security challenges in the state.
He said they must work as a team and collaborate with other security agencies to protect the people and public assets from criminals.
”I am on a mission to ensure adequate protection of all critical national assets in the state,” Mr Agun said in a statement issued by the command’s spokesman, Efosa Ogbebor, on Monday.
He charged heads of departments and units and all personnel to be punctual, disciplined and proactive in discharging their duties.
The commandant warned against acts of indiscipline by personnel and advised them to be civil and professional in discharging their duties.
