Ebonyi govt. to distribute 13, 000 bags of fertilisers to farmers

The Ebonyi State government on Thursday said it would distribute 13,000 bags of fertilisers to farmers to boost food production.
Chikadibia Okpor, the state Commissioner for Information and Orientation, disclosed this at a news conference after the state weekly executive meeting in Abakaliki, the state capital.
Mr Okpor said Governor Francis Nwifuru had, during the State Executive Council meeting, received a report on the commencement of fertiliser production by the State Fertiliser and Chemical Company.
He said the report was in accordance with the directive of the council’s previous meeting.
“The state consequently approved the procurement and distribution of 13,000 bags of fertilisers to farmers,” he said.
Mr Okpor added, “On the repair of 33 units of transformers for redeployment into the electricity network across the state, the council resolved to direct the Commissioner for Power and Energy to consult with the Enugu Electricity Distribution Company (EEDC).”
