Ebonyi civil defence boss pledges to tackle insecurity ahead of yuletide

The Commandant of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Ebonyi State Command, Francis Nnadi, has pledged to tackle insecurity in the state as the Yuletide season approaches.
The commandant made the pledge on Monday in Abakaliki during an interview.
Mr Nnadi, who was recently redeployed to Ebonyi State, said that he would synergise with other sister security organisations to ensure that criminals were flushed out of the state and crime reduced to the barest minimum.
He added that under his leadership, there would be no hiding place for criminals in the state.
Mr Nnadi took over the command from the outgone Commandant, Dr Elijah Etim on October 31 in a colourful handing over/taking over ceremony held at the state headquarters of the command.
The security expert, who acknowledged the current dynamics in crime and criminality, said that officers and men of the outfit were better equipped and trained to combat crime.
He noted that the command would ensure that vandals of public infrastructure and critical national assets and other dangerous criminals would not have a place to operate in Ebonyi State.
He promised to leverage on the successes and achievements recorded by his predecessor stressing that the task of moving the command forward was a critical responsibility of all.
Mr Nnadi urged the personnel to key into his agenda in moving Ebonyi State command to greater heights with particular attention to commitment to assigned responsibility; dedication to duty, disposition to training, retraining and display of discipline at all times.
He said, “The command will leave no stone unturned in ensuring that the state and its inhabitants live in secure, peaceful and orderly environment especially as the Yuletide seasons approaches.’’
He extolled the leadership prowess of the NSCDC Commandant General, Dr Ahmed Audi, which he noted led to success stories and milestone achievements of the organisation across the country.
The commandant expressed his gratitude to Mr Audi for finding him worthy of the appointment pledging his determination to key into the vision of the CG in delivering on the corps mandate.
He stated, “I am committed to ensuring security and protection of lives and critical, national, state and local government assets in Ebonyi State. As a chief security expert, I’m mindful of the yearnings of the good people of Ebonyi and I’m seeking and soliciting support and cooperation of members of the public in subduing all forms of crime and criminality in the State.’’
Mr Nnadi born on December 6, 1974, hails from Ndiuloukwu, Izombe in the Oguta Local Government Area of Imo State, and holds a bachelor of Engineering in Electrical/Electronics Engineering from the Federal University of Science and Technology, Owerri. .
The new NSCDC commandant, Ebonyi State command was drafted to the corps in 2007 from a sister security agency.
He has served in NSCDC National Headquarters, Abuja; Lagos State Command. NSCDC Zone A, Zonal Command Headquarters, Lagos among others.
