On Monday, the chief judge of Ebonyi, Elvis Ngene, inaugurated a 15-member Advisory Committee to facilitate the state’s Court Administration and Case Management project.

The CACM project aims to promote speedy justice delivery through the digitisation of court processes and other judicial processes.

Mr Ngene tasked the committee on hard work to achieve the project’s objectives, adding that there were enormous benefits to be derived.

He also commended the Public and Private Development Centre for bringing the project to Ebonyi, and pledged government cooperation, in ensuring a successful implementation.

“The benefits the state as a whole and judiciary in particular will derive from this project are enormous; it will aid the quick and speedy dispensation of justice.

“All of us are witnesses to the slow pace of work due to the analogue system we employ in our various courts and even in the various organisations in which we are employed.

“The aid of PPDC is coming to Ebonyi at no better time, so, I welcome all of you and pray that God will see us through and ensure that the intent of PPDC and Ebonyi government will work as effectively as it has worked in other states,” stated the chief judge.

Meanwhile, in a brief remark, the attorney general, Ben Odoh, applauded the PPDC for finding the state worthy of the CACM project.

He noted that the earlier project, slated to last one year, has been extended to two years.
