Easter: FRSC deploys 1,500 personnel in Anambra

The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Anambra State command, has deployed 1,500 personnel, including Special Marshals, to monitor key traffic points across the state ahead of the Easter celebrations.
The sector commander, Bridget Asekhauno, disclosed this on Wednesday while speaking with journalists.
She said the command also placed emergency response teams on standby to handle any incidents.
The commander noted that tow trucks, patrol vehicles, motorcycles, and ambulances had been made ready to respond promptly to emergencies and traffic obstructions.
Mrs Asekhauno urged motorists to prioritise road safety by obeying traffic rules and exercising caution on the roads, especially during this period of increased movement.
She also appealed to passengers to take responsibility for their own safety by wearing seat belts, avoiding overloading, and reporting reckless driving to authorities.
“We urge all road users to make safety a priority and arrive at their destinations safely.
“Let us make this Easter memorable, not for crashes, but for safe travels and joyful celebrations,” the sector commander said.
She added that for emergency assistance, road users could contact the FRSC toll-free number, 122, emphasising the command’s commitment to saving lives, public enlightenment, and prompt rescue services.
