Easter: Ekiti speaker urges Christians to demonstrate sacrificial love of Christ

Olubunmi Adelugba, the speaker of the Ekiti State House of Assembly, has urged Christians to demonstrate the sacrificial love of Jesus Christ in their relationship with individuals and the country as a whole.
Ms Adelugba made the call in a statement by her media aide, Odunayo Ogunmola, in Ado-Ekiti, the state capital.
The speaker, who used the opportunity to congratulate Christians on this year’s Easter celebration, urged the faithful to celebrate in moderation.
Ms Adelugba said Easter was significant because the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ made man’s salvation possible.
She added that the resurrection of Jesus Christ was proof of God’s ultimate power in the affairs of man.
The speaker urged Christians to abide by the injunctions of Jesus Christ and always align with God’s will to live rewarding lives.
Ms Adelugba congratulated Christians for completing the 40-day Lent, culminating in the Passion Week and peaked with Easter.
The speaker equally urged Christians to always pray for peace, progress, prosperity, security and stability of Ekiti State and Nigeria.
She further urged them to celebrate Easter with moderation and extend hands of fellowship to adherents of other religions
