Easter: Abiru preaches unity, steadfastness in nation-building

Mukhail Abiru (APC-Lagos East), chairman, Senate Committee on Banking, Insurance, and Other Financial Institutions, has urged Christians to unite and be steadfast in nation-building.
Mr Abiru made the call in his Easter message, signed by Enitan Olukotun, his media aide, on Sunday in Lagos.
The lawmaker emphasised the importance of unity, tolerance, and peaceful coexistence among Nigerians, regardless of faith or background.
He encouraged citizens to reflect on the significance of Easter, embracing the values of love, sacrifice, and hope that it represents.
“As we commemorate the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, let us be guided by his teachings and strive for peaceful coexistence, as admonished in the holy scriptures,” Mr Abiru said.
He acknowledged the ongoing economic reforms, urging citizens to be patient and understanding.
Mr Abiru noted that the administration’s policy decisions, spearheaded by President Bola Tinubu, were yielding positive signs across sectors.
“With continued support and collective effort, I believe we will overcome short-term challenges and build a stronger, more prosperous nation in the long term,” he said.
The senator urged Christians, Muslims, and Nigerians of other faiths to pray for the country and support the president’s policy initiatives for the betterment of all citizens.
“May this Easter season renew our hope, strengthen our unity and inspire a collective commitment to national progress. Happy Easter!” he said.
