The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) in Nasarawa State, Yahaya Sabo-Adiku,  has confirmed the death of six passengers in a fatal accident that occurred along the Keffi-Akwanga expressway.

Mr Sabo-Adiku confirmed the development during an interview in Keffi on Thursday.

According to him, the accident involving a Toyota Sienna Space bus killed six passengers with three others injured.

“An accident really happened between Keffi -Akwanga road around 10:20 am in which six people died with three injured,” he said.

He explained that the driver of the affected Sienna bus in an attempt to evade inspection by FRSC officials sped off and crashed into another vehicle.

He stated, “The accident was caused by the recklessness of one of the drivers who refused to stop for our patrol team. In the process of trying to avoid arrest, he crashed into another vehicle.”

He advised drivers not to see FRSC officials as adversaries but partners in the road transportation sector that need their cooperation for the purpose of safety on Nigerian roads.
