Donald Trump names Susie Wiles first U.S. female chief of staff in history

Ahead of his assumption of office as America’s 47th president in January, President-elect Donald Trump has named Susie Wiles his chief of staff.
“Susie is tough, smart, innovative and is universally admired and respected,” Mr Trump said in a statement on Thursday. “I have no doubt that she will make our country proud.”
Mr Trump said he appointed Ms Wiles as part of preparation ahead of the transition process as he makes other important appointments of those to run his government.
This comes two days after Mr Trump won a landslide victory, defeating Vice President Kamala Harris.
A Florida strategist who coordinated Mr Trump’s campaign, Ms Wiles, 67, becomes America’s first-ever female to be named chief of staff.
Ms Wiles has remained on Mr Trump’s campaign team since 2016 and is reported to have shown a better understanding of the president-elect, who had four chiefs of staff during his first stint at the White House.
