District head confers chieftaincy title on Niger deputy governor

The District Head of Bosso Local Government in Niger State, Mallam Mua’zu Laka, has conferred the traditional title of “Gwarzon Bosso” on the Deputy Governor of the state, Yakubu Garba.
He announced the conferment of the new title on the deputy governor during the annual Bosso Day held at his palace in Bosso LGA.
The title means “Hero.’’
Mr Laka said the council decided to confer the title on the deputy governor for his sportsmanship and proving his mettle as the son of the soil, adding that Bosso was another hometown to him.
According to him, Mr Garba is at best, an angel of light and at worst, a perfect mortal with no perfection, which informed the decision to confer the title on him.
Mr Garba appreciated the honour done to him and called on everyone to pull their resources together and key into Governor Umaru Bago- led administration agenda to deliver dividends of democracy to the people.
Dignitaries at the event were commissioners, permanent secretaries, political office holders, sons and daughters of Bosso.
