The Federal Road Safety Corps, Delta State sector command said a total of 8,379 driving licences remained uncollected, calling on the owners to come for their licences..

This is contained in a statement signed by Superintendent Route Commander and Sector Public Education Officer of FRSC, Patrick Obiagbo, on Wednesday in Asaba.

He said, “The FRSC Delta command is appealing to members of the public who have processed their national driver’s licences but have yet to collect them to do so without further delay. As of the latest audit across the various drivers’ licence centres in the state, a total of 8,379 processed driver’s licences remains uncollected. These include licences for both fresh applications and renewals. This situation not only causes an administrative backlog but also undermines efforts to ensure all drivers on the roads are duly certified and documented.’’

Mr Obiagbo noted that possessing a valid driving licence was not only a legal requirement but also a vital step towards promoting safer road use and accountability.

He said, “Drivers are therefore encouraged to play their part in upholding road safety rules by completing the final stage of their application process. The FRSC Delta State sector command remains committed to ensuring the safety of all road users. We, therefore, urge members of the public to take the call seriously by checking and collecting their driver’s licences at the earliest convenience.’’
