Darkness as national grid collapses again

The national grid again on Wednesday collapsed throwing Nigerians into blackout.
“Please be informed that the power outage currently being experienced is due to a loss of supply from the national grid at 11:23 hrs today, affecting electricity supply across our franchise areas,” Abuja Electric Distribution Plc, disclosed in a statement.
The company however assured that work was ongoing with relevant stakeholders to restore power after stabilising the grid.
Also in a post on X, the National Grid said the load as of 12:25 p.m. by Abuja DisCo was 20 MW, Benin DisCo was 10 MW, Eko DisCo was 0 MW, Enugu DisCo was 0 MW, Ibadan DisCo was 20 MW, Ikeja DisCo was 0 MW, Jos DisCo was 0 MW, Kaduna DisCo was 0 MW, Kano DisCo was 0 MW, Port Harcourt DisCo was 0 MW and Yola DisCo was 0 MW.
Peoples Gazette contacted Bili Akau, the Head Communications for the Nigerian Independent System Operator, Bili Akau, recently unbundled from the Transmission Company of Nigeria, in April.
But he neither picked calls made to his mobile nor responded to text messages sent.
