The Kaduna area command of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has reaffirmed its resolve to deepen collaboration with sister security agencies to boost operational effectiveness and enhance national security.

The customs area controller (CAC) in Kaduna, Comptroller Sa’ad Garba Hassan, made this known during a series of courtesy visits to heads of key security and law enforcement agencies across the state.

This is contained in a statement by Dauda Adamu, deputy superintendent of customs and the command’s public relations officer, Kaduna area command.

Mr Hassan said the visits were aimed at strengthening inter-agency synergy, intelligence sharing, and mutual support in addressing evolving security challenges, such as smuggling, economic sabotage, and threats to public safety.

He said the CAC met separately with the Kaduna commissioner of police, Muhammad Rabiu; the general officer commanding (GOC), 1 Division, Nigerian Army, Abdulsalam Wase; and the state director of the State Security Service (SSS), Hakeem Abiola.

Mr Hassan had also visited the sector commander, Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), Kaduna State Command, Corps Commander Tijjani Yusuf; the zonal director, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Kaduna zonal directorate, Usman Bawa Kaltungo; and the state commandant, Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC), Kaduna command, Panam Musa Buba.

According to Mr Hassan, the Nigeria Customs Service cannot operate in isolation, especially in the face of complex and evolving security threats confronting the nation.

He said that sustained collaboration among security agencies remained critical to intelligence-driven enforcement, effective border management, and improved service delivery.

The controller commended the agencies for their longstanding partnership with the command, particularly in joint operations, intelligence exchange, personnel protection, and crisis response.

He appealed for the strengthening of the existing synergy to ensure seamless cooperation and greater operational impact across all areas of shared responsibility.

In their separate responses, heads of the various agencies applauded the CAC for taking proactive steps to deepen inter-agency relations and pledged continued support to the Nigeria Customs Service.

They assured the controller of enhanced intelligence sharing, participation in joint operations, and exploration of new areas of collaboration to safeguard national security and economic interests.

The CAC reaffirmed that the command would continue to pursue partnerships that promote legitimate trade facilitation, strengthen border management, and contribute to national economic stability.
