Court sentences two men to community service for breach of peace

The Ota Magistrates’ Court in Ogun on Monday sentenced two men, Isa Ajibose (25) and Emmanuel Lawrence (22), to one day of community service for blocking the road and demanding money from the public.
In her ruling, the magistrate, O. O. Fadairo, sentenced the two convicts to one day of community service without any option of fine.
The convicts, whose addresses were not provided, had pleaded guilty to the breach of peace and obstructing traffic.
Earlier, the prosecutor, E. O. Adaraloye, told the court that the convicts committed the offences on January 31, at about 9:30 p.m. at the Tollgate area, Ota.
Mr Adaraloye said the convicts conducted themselves in a manner likely to cause a breach of peace, blocking the road and demanding money from the public.
The prosecutor said the offences contravened sections 234 and 406 of the Criminal Code, Laws of Ogun, 2006.
