Court remands 30-year-old man for alleged kidnap in Ibadan

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, Oyo State on Thursday ordered that one Ibrahim Kudu, 30, be remanded in a correctional facility in Ibadan for alleged kidnap.
Mr Kudu, whose residential address was not provided, was charged with conspiracy, kidnapping and ransom collection.
The Magistrate, G. Oladele, however, did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction.
She directed the police to return the case file to the Director of Public Prosecutions for legal advice.
She thereafter adjourned the case until April 15 for mention.
The Prosecutor, Sergeant Samuel Owolabi told the court that the defendant allegedly committed the offence on January 28, at about 7 p.m., along Ilero -Ibadan Expressway, Ibadan.
Mr Owolabi alleged that the defendant and others now at large unlawfully kidnapped the duo of Ebenezer Ojerinde and Biola Iyiola, while they were in transit to their cow ranch at the aforementioned area.
He said the offences contravened Sections 516 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000 and 3(1)(2) and 10 of the kidnapping prohibition laws of Oyo State, 2016.
