CIPMN urges support for effective project management

The Chartered Institute of Project Managers of Nigeria has urged stakeholders to support effective and efficient project management in the country.
The Registrar of CIPMN, Henry Mbadiwe, made the call at a three-day induction and training programme by the institute on Tuesday in Abuja.
The event is themed, “The digital project manager.”
Mr Mbadiwe thanked the Minister of Industry, Trade and Investment, Dr Doris Ukoka-Anite, for her support and appealed for more support from other bodies for the benefit of Nigerians.
The registrar acknowledged efforts by the present administration to drive the country’s economy and curb building collapse but emphasised that more needed to be done.
He stated that CIPMN aimed to build 21st-century project managers who would utilise technology and knowledge to deliver projects across various sectors.
He highlighted the importance of project management in various fields, including technology, process improvement, and financial services.
Mr Mbadiwe also emphasised the need for licensed project managers to ensure delivery of projects and proper regulation.
Congratulating the newly inducted members, Mr Mbadiwe urged them to be good ambassadors of CIPMN and the country.
The President of the institute, Akinola Babalola, encouraged members to utilise technology in driving project management.
Over 200 new members were inducted into CIPMN, pledging to give their best and be good ambassadors of the institute.
