Chinese vice premier meets IMF chief over international economic situation

Chinese Vice Premier He Lifeng met with Kristalina Georgieva, managing director of the International Monetary Fund in Beijing.
The two sides exchanged views on the current international economic and financial situation and major issues related to the IMF.
He, also a member of the Political Bureau of the Communist Party of China Central Committee, said China’s economy had maintained a momentum of steady and sound growth with a strengthened internal drive for economic growth.
“The Chinese government will continue to support the IMF in making new contributions to global stability and prosperity,” he said.
Ms Georgieva said it was believed that China’s efforts to transform its growth model and promote high-quality financial development will inject new impetus into global economic growth.
