China welcomes progress in Iran-Pakistan relations

China welcomes the positive progress in restoring relations between Iran and Pakistan and supports the two sides in enhancing mutual trust and deepening cooperation through friendly consultation.
The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Wang Wenbin, said this on Tuesday.
In response to a related query, Wenbin said at a daily news briefing that China was willing to strengthen mutually beneficial cooperation with Iran and Pakistan further.
They jointly safeguard regional peace, stability and development.
Iran and Pakistan have both agreed that the ambassadors of both countries may return to their respective posts by January 26.
The decision was made following a telephone conversation between the foreign ministers of both countries.
