Chelsea part ways with manager Mauricio Pochettino

Premier League side Chelsea have parted ways with their manager, Mauricio Pochettino, by mutual consent less than one year in charge of the London club, multiple reports have confirmed.
According to renowned football journalist Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea and Pochettino, whose abrupt departure from Stamford Bridge surprised many, have agreed to part ways.
“BREAKING: Mauricio Pochettino and Chelsea part ways with immediate effect. Chelsea and Pochettino have already agreed on terms, as @Matt_Law_DT reports,” Romano posted on social media.
Pochettino led Chelsea to a strong sixth-place finish in the 2023/24 season, qualifying the Blues for European football next season compared to a 12th-place finish in the previous season.
He also reached the FA Cup semi-final and Carabao Cup final with Chelsea in the just-concluded campaign.
Romano noted that Chelsea will choose a younger manager as Pochettino’s replacement. Ipswich Town Kieran McKenna, who recently led the club to Premier League promotion, is among the names under serious consideration.
“#CFC will consider a young manager as a priority to replace Pochettino,” Romano said.
