Chelsea complete record £115m move for Moisés Caicedo

Premier League side, Chelsea, have completed the signing of Ecuadorian midfielder Moisés Caicedo from Brighton in the biggest transfer deal in England, Peoples Gazette can confirm.
“Chelsea is delighted to announce the signing of Ecuador international Moises Caicedo,” the Blues said in a statement on Monday.
Caicedo’s move to Chelsea is one of the most dramatic transfers in the summer as the player refused a move to Liverpool – the Reds had a £110m bid accepted by Brighton for the 21-year-old last week.
But the saga ensued when Caicedo turned down an attempt to negotiate with him on personal terms and reiterated his ultimate intention is to join Chelsea, who subsequently finalised a record £115m deal to sign the player.
The former Independiente del Valle player put pen to paper on an eight-year contract and the option for a further one-year extension.
“I am so happy to join Chelsea! I am so excited to be here at this big club and I didn’t have to think twice when Chelsea called me; I just knew I wanted to sign for the club. It’s a dream come true to be here and I can’t wait to get started with the team,” Caicedo said about the move.
Chelsea manager Mauricio Pochettino said: “Moises possesses a rare midfield skill set and is a player we’ve been targeting for some time. We believe he will make a significant impact at Stamford Bridge this season – and in the years ahead.”
