Carpenter arraigned for failing to make client’s furniture after payment of N200,000

A carpenter, Aminu Sani, on Wednesday was arraigned before a Shari’a court sitting at Magajin Gari, Kaduna for breach of contract.
The complainant, Abdulrazak Haruna, told the court that he paid the defendant N200,000 in January to construct a bed set and wardrobe.
He said, “He has been making empty promises. Every time I ask for my furniture, he keeps giving me excuses. I am tired and I want my money back.’’
On his part, the defendant said he would not be able to refund the money but would make the furniture.
He prayed court to give him one month’s grace to make the furniture.
The judge, Muhammad Kabir, ordered the defendant to finish and present the furniture in court on July 30.
He granted the defendant bail on the condition that he provides a reliable surety.
