Car hits several pedestrians during Liverpool FC EPL trophy parade

A car rammed into several pedestrians during Liverpool FC’s English Premier League trophy parade on Monday evening.
As is customary, thousands thronged the streets in celebration of Liverpool FC’s EPL title.
Merseyside police, in a statement shared on X, said, “Extensive enquiries are ongoing to establish the circumstances leading up to the collision.”
The police also confirmed that “a 53-year-old white British man from the Liverpool area” has been arrested.
In a post on X, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer said, “The scenes in Liverpool are appalling — my thoughts are with all those injured or affected.”
Liverpool FC, in a post on X, stated, “We are in direct contact with Merseyside Police regarding the incident on Water Street which happened towards the end of the trophy parade earlier this evening. Our thoughts and prayers are with those who have been affected by this serious incident.”
