Burna, Shatta Wale spat almost sparked diplomatic incident: Ghana’s President Akufo-Addo

Ghanaian President Nana Akufo-Addo said the recent online brawl between Nigerian Grammy winning artist Burna Boy and Ghanian musician Shatta Wale, could have resulted in a “diplomatic incident”.
During his recent speech at a press conference on Ghana-Nigeria relations, Mr Akufo-Addo said the two African countries have always been on good terms, although the recent beef between the artist almost threatened a diplomatic incident.
“Apart from musician Shatta Wale of Ghana and Burna Boy of Nigeria threatening to spark up a diplomatic incident recently, Nigeria and Ghana have always been siblings,” he said.
“Even though we quarrel and disagree occasionally, we love each other,” Mr Akufo-Addo added.
A few months back Shatta Wale took to social media to call out Nigerian music artists, referring to them as “upcoming” and ungrateful.
His online meltdown attracted the response of many Nigerian artists including Burna Boy, who invited Shatta Wale for a physical one-on-one brawl.
The two countries played the first leg of the World Cup qualifier match on Friday at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium Kumasi, Ghana. The game ended in a draw.
