Burglars cart away multimillion-naira medical equipment from Ondo hospital

Medical equipment worth millions of naira has been carted away from a hospital in Ondo by suspected burglars.
The facility, Ileri Oluwa House of Hope Hospital, was burgled last week by the suspects.
Hakeem Oyeneyin, the owner of the hospital, who broke the news on Wednesday upon his return to the facility, said the hoodlums scaled the roof to perpetrate the crime.
Mr Oyeneyin described the burglary case as disheartening, adding that the suspects made their way to escape through the window.
He said that none of the patients were injured during the attack at the facility noting that the incident had been reported to the police.
“The hospital will now be shut down pending the time the community will assure the safety of lives and properties at the facility,” Mr Oyeneyin added.
It was learned that the hospital with highly skilled visiting neurologists served the middle class who have abandoned government-owned hospitals due to their deplorable conditions.
Confirming the incident, a police spokeswoman in Ondo, Funmilayo Odunlami, said the case was reported stressing that detectives have already started their investigation with a view to apprehending the suspects.
