Bournemouth thrash Man United 3-0 as Carrick’s job comes under threat; Liverpool, Newcastle win

Manchester United’s worst-ever start in the Premier League continued on Sunday after the Red Devils were thrashed 3-0 by Bournemouth, putting head coach Michael Carrick’s job in jeopardy.
The defeat means Man United have managed to secure only seven points from their first eight league matches this season, as the Red Devils sit 16th on the table with one point from the drop zone.
Rayan opened the scoring for Bournemouth in the 38th minute after firing home a pass by Justin Kluivert into the box before Marcus Tavernier doubled the advantage for the visitors five minutes later.
Meanwhile, Evanilson sealed the victory for Bournemouth off an assist from Lewis Cook to secure the three points for the visitors, condemning Man United to yet another defeat.
Man United have now failed to win any of their last eight matches across all competitions, recording five defeats and three draws.
In other matches on Sunday, Liverpool beat Brighton 2-0 at Anfield to move to fourth on the league table. An own goal by Pascal GroB in the 17th minute and a goal by Alexander Isak secured the victory for the Reds.
At Selhurst Park, Crystal Palace lost 2-0 at home to Newcastle United, with William Osula and Harvey Barnes being the goal-scorers, while Hull City and Brentford settled for a 1-1 draw.
Oli McBurnie netted Hull City’s goal in the match, while Dango Ouattara scored for Brentford.
