Borno Assembly passes N358.7 billion 2024 budget

The Borno House of Assembly, on Thursday, passed the 2024 budget presented to it by Gov. Babagana Zulum.
The house jerked up the budget from the initial N340.6 billion presented by the governor to N358.7 billion.
The budget was passed at the plenary presided over by the Speaker, Abdulkarim Lawan, following presentation of the budget report to the house by the chairman, House Committee on Appropriation, Bukar Alibe (APC-Kaga).
After the presentation, the house dissolved into Committee of the Whole to consider the budget report.
Leader of the house, Dige Mohammed (APC- Kalabalge), moved motion for the adoption of the report and was seconded by Baba Mala (APC-Bama).
The speaker, after the passage, directed the Clerk of the house to prepare clean copies of the budget known as “Budget of Consolidation and Progress” for the governor’s assent.
The house at the plenary also approved the request by the governor to appoint 20 special advisers and the establishment of Borno State Great Green Wall and State Information Communication Technology Agency.
