U.S. aircraft maker Boeing delivered significantly more passenger and cargo jets in 2022 than the previous year.

This followed what have been known to be a few difficult years.

The company on Tuesday said it delivered 152 commercial aeroplanes in the fourth quarter of 2022 compared to 99 commercial aeroplanes delivered in the same period a year earlier.

In 2022, Boeing delivered 480 commercial aircraft, a 41 per cent increase compared to the year before.

Boeing would provide detailed fourth-quarter financial results on January 25, the company said in a statement.

In a separate release, the Virginia-based company reported 774 commercial orders in 2022 after cancellations and conversions, including 561 orders for the 737 families and 213 orders for the company’s twin-aisle aeroplanes.

As of December 31, 2022, the commercial aeroplanes backlog was 4,578 jets.
