Boat accident claims eight in Afghanistan

Eight people have been killed in a boat accident in eastern Afghanistan, including children and women, local media reported on Wednesday.
The incident occurred in the Kuz Kunar district of Nangarhar province.
According to the local authorities, a boat carrying 14 people capsized due to strong winds.
Residents of Kuz Kunar district have long faced challenges due to a damaged bridge in the area, which has contributed to such accidents.
This is the second boat accident in Nangarhar province in recent months.
In July, at least eight people lost their lives in a similar incident in the Mohmandara district.
Decades of conflict have left Afghanistan with a lack of basic infrastructure in many areas.
In recent years, the country has been severely impacted by several natural disasters, including earthquakes and floods.
