President of South Africa, Cyril Ramaphosa, is gearing up to reshuffle his cabinet on Monday (today).

The imminent cabinet reshuffle was announced on Sunday by the president’s spokesman, Vincent Magwenya.

“The president is finalizing his reconfiguration of the national executive, and he is taking into account the swearing-in of some members of parliament before announcing the reshuffle,” Mr Magwenya said at a press briefing on Sunday.

The public anticipates that Mr Ramaphosa will appoint a new deputy president, particularly in light of the vacancy left by David Mabuza’s resignation from this administration on Wednesday.

The reshuffled cabinet members would include the new electricity minister appointed to drive South Africa out of an epileptic power crisis that has left many small businesses in debt or shut down.
